If a fire breaks out in windmills or wind turbines, fighting the fire from the ground is impossible
The wind turbine’s nacelle contains brakes, switch boxes, transmissions and converters. Due to the combination of these parts and lubricants, grease, plastic and electronic components, there is a high fire risk in the nacelle. Short circuit, overload, overheating and lightning stroke are the main causes of fire in a wind turbine.
By protecting directly at the source of the fire with AF-X Fireblocker, you significantly reduce the risk of (damage from) fire. Short circuits and overheating are usually the cause of fires. The fire is extinguished directly with our wind turbine fire suppression system. The fire damage will be limited to the part that caused the fire.
