Perth WA

The Role

We have a great opportunity for Fire / Field Service Technician to join our established team based from our
Perth branch.

This is hands on role that will suit someone with Mobile Suppression industry experience, or someone with a background in Mechanics, Auto Electrical or Fitting. We are looking for someone who is mechanically minded and enjoys being out on client sites.

Duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Installation, maintenance, service and repair of Fire suppression systems
  • Maintaining awareness to adhere with individual site WH&S policies
  • Ability to liaise with internal staff effectively regarding any work changes and schedule updates
  • General housekeeping and document control

Ideal Candidate

  • Fire Suppression experience or equivalent trade knowledge
  • Have a strong mechanical aptitude
  • Understanding and knowledge of mechanical parts
  • Be able to undergo a pre-employment medical
  • Valid Australian drivers’ license
  • Cert II Fire Protection & Inspection – desirable, not essential 
  • Trade Qualified – desirable, not essential

Electrical Fire Technician

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrician to work within our Fixed Facilities team, based in Sydney NSW. This role will predominantly involve testing, repairing, and installing emergency light systems, electrical fire detection systems. Along with conducting essential fire safety routine servicing for our customers throughout the greater Sydney area.

Ideal Candidate

  • Electrical trade qualification and NSW electrical contractor’s licence – Desirable

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Dry Fire Electrician/ Licenced Electrician to join our Fixed Facilities team in our Hunter Valley region. This role will predominantly involve Inspection, Maintenance, and installation of emergency light systems and Fire detection and Warning systems throughout the region, with the occasional assisting our Newcastle team. We are open to meet candidates having experience across residential, commercial, industrial & mining sites as an Electrician.

Pre Engineered Fire Protection System Estimator

The Role

This role is structured to support career progression from Estimator to Product Manager, with mentoring, training, and increasing responsibility over time.

The Estimator will assist in preparing cost estimates and proposals for pre-engineered fire protection systems, while gaining exposure to product lifecycle activities, supplier engagement, and market analysis. Pre-Engineered fire protection systems include Wet Chemical and Watermist Kitchen Suppression systems, marine fire protection systems, Aerosol fire protection systems, vehicle systems and micro environment systems amongst others. With structured mentoring and training, this role provides a development pathway into a Product Manager position within the fire protection domain.

Ideal Candidate

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical or any engineering related field (Desirable)
  • Experience in Fire Industry (Desirable)
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence (Preferred)
  • Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read drawings and learn fire protection system design basics.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Sprinkler Fitter/Wet Fire Technician

The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Sprinkler Fitter to join our growing team based in Newcastle NSW. This is a hands-on role that will suit someone with experience or wet fire system knowledge.

Duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Completing scheduled and periodic testing of Sprinkler Systems, Pumps, Tanks, Hydrants and hose reel systems to AS1851-2012
  • Identifying and reporting on defects and system faults
  • Assisting with repairs and modifications to wet fire systems
  • Requirements of a Licence for water plumbing/Fire sprinkler systems & or Fire protection systems
  • Maintaining awareness to adhere with individual site WH&S policies
  • Ability to liaise with internal staff effectively regarding any work changes and schedule updates

Ideal candidate

  • A strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience working with Commercial/Industrial/Mining customers or sites.
  • Previous experience or knowledge with wet fire systems
  • Hold a current Australian manual driver’s licence
  • Demonstrate a positive / energetic attitude
  • Pass a full medical including ongoing random drug & alcohol tests
  • Able to travel regionally occasionally with some overnight stays when needed.

Warehouse Technician/ Storeperson

Mount Waverley, Melbourne VIC

The Role

FPT is looking for a warehouse technician for the production department to work with different kinds of fire extinguishing equipment, including stocking, assembly, and dispatch, along with other warehouse duties.

Fire Experience is desirable but anyone with a good warehouse experience wanting to move into Fire industry is welcome to apply!

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare complete fire extinguishing systems for dispatch.
  • Drill various nozzles and orifice plates to exact dimensions provided by engineers.
  • Cutting pipe into exact lengths as specified by engineers.
  • Conduct hydrostatic pressure testing of cylinders and manifolds and pipe work as required.
  • Select parts from the small parts store and warehouse.
  • Record stock movements on stock cards.
  • Record extinguisher cylinder serial numbers in registers.
  • Record extinguisher details in filling register.
  • When required, using the company truck or utility deliver equipment to local customers and project sites.
  • Package and strapping of goods for delivery.
  • Quality inspection of inwards and outwards goods.
  • Take reasonable care for your own health and safety
  • Report any quality, safety and environmental incident or hazards to their Manager or Supervisor.
